Biography
Ashlea McKay is a lead User Experience (UX) researcher, writer and keynote speaker with more than a decade of experience. She comes from an industrial design background and her career has spanned both the public and private sectors in Australia as well as the international SaaS startup space. Ashlea has extensive experience working with government as both an in-house resource and as an external consultant collaboratively partnering with client teams. As an experienced UX researcher, Ashlea leads UX research projects and teams to plan, conduct, analyse and deliver actionable insights across a wide variety of discovery and evaluative methodologies in both moderated and un-moderated settings. Ashlea is a well-respected UX thought leader and writer and has contributed to numerous industry publications throughout her career. She is an accomplished public speaker having delivered presentations to a wide variety of audiences ranging from local professional gatherings to panel appearances at UX industry events to full-length conference talks delivered to large audiences (400+) both locally and overseas. Ashlea is based in Canberra and currently works at Synergy as part of the firm’s Digital & Technology service offering. Synergy is one of Canberra’s fastest-growing, most dynamic accounting and consulting firms, serving Federal and Territory government and commercial clients.
