Biography
John Parshotamadas is Principal Business Analysts with 10+ years’ experience in Business Analysis. He is currently working for Eureka Moment Consulting and delivering on a digital transformation program for a city council in Melbourne. He is a Certified Business Analysis Professional, PROCSI Change Management certified and a Certified Practitioner for Human-Centred Design. He has a B. Com (Information Systems) and a Graduate Certificate in Enterprise-Wide Systems. He has been involved in several digital transformation projects. He is also a coach and mentor. He believes successful business change is doing projects with the clients rather than to the clients. He has strong people skills and the ability to build relationships with his stakeholders. Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated a track record in delivering business value and managing large business changes. He has a passion and commitment to life-long learning.

 
Presentation: Story Telling: A strategic approach to influencing business change
Influencing stakeholders is a critical business analysis activity. Our stakeholders must be convinced that the solution we are presenting will align with their needs and the wider needs of the organisation. Very often our presenting facts whilst important are dry, dull, boring and fail to persuade them.

Relevant business stories add a rich dimension by combining logic and emotions together to make a compelling argument that uses the imagination of our stakeholders to visualise what the target state may look like.

I have personally used story telling in my digital transformation projects and have been able to collaborate successfully with my stakeholders. In this talk, I will share with the audience the skills and techniques to tell stories that influence business change.
