Adelaide Presentation: How Business Analysts Guide Responsible AI in Real Projects

AI is becoming part of everyday project work. Organisations still rely on people who can interpret change, manage uncertainty and guide safe adoption. Technology often moves quickly in delivery teams, while organisations proceed cautiously; business analysis bridges this gap, helping teams stay aligned, confident and grounded.

This session explores how business analysis provides the structure and judgement essential for informed AI decisions in real project scenarios. It focuses on the practical activities that shape responsible AI outcomes, such as defining context for expected AI behaviour, identifying risks early and clearly, supporting teams through uncertainty, and maintaining human oversight as automation and complexity increase.

The discussion highlights how business analysis adapts its skills and mindset to guide teams through AI driven change. It shows how business analysis aligns strategy, people and delivery by grounding decisions in ethics, user needs and organisational constraints. It demonstrates how business analysis accelerates meaningful outcomes by improving prompts, shaping workflows and putting in place effective guardrails.

Attendees will gain a practical perspective on responsible AI in real projects – the questions to ask, signals to watch for, and the small practices that drive meaningful impact. This session offers an honest look at how business analysis guides responsible AI adoption in modern delivery environments.

This session positions Business Analysts as the practical stewards of responsible AI adoption. Its core identity is grounded, real‑world responsibility, and its promise is simple: here’s how BAs help teams adopt AI safely, ethically and with clarity.

Melbourne Presentation: Human–AI Collaboration as a Core BA Capability

Human–AI collaboration is becoming a core skill for Business Analysts, but most teams still treat humans and AI as separate problem-solvers. Co-presented by two practitioners with complementary strengths, one representing the AI-assisted side of analysis and the other representing the human side of stakeholder engagement, this session demonstrates how BAs can orchestrate both to solve real delivery problems.

Through a series of live, scenario-based demonstrations, audience volunteers will join the presenters in tackling common BA challenges such as clarifying ambiguous requirements, refining user stories, analysing conflicting stakeholder needs and mapping incomplete processes. Together, they will compare human and AI-generated outputs, critique the differences and combine them into a practical Human–AI workflow.

The session introduces a simple, repeatable template that helps BAs decide where human judgement is essential, where AI can accelerate analysis and where both must work together. It highlights the strengths and limitations of each, showing how BAs can guide AI behaviour while preserving meaning, intent and stakeholder context.

This is an energetic, interactive session designed for practitioners who want to move beyond theory and experience Human–AI collaboration in action. Attendees will leave with a practical workflow they can apply immediately, and a deeper understanding of how to blend human nuance with AI-driven structure to deliver better outcomes.

Raj will be co-presenting with Shravan Cunchala.
