Presentation: Art of Communication Learnt from Ninja
Hiroko will be co-presenting with Keiko Kato.
Ninja(忍者)is originated in the feudal era in Japan as practitioners of a martial art, often employed for espionage.
Ninjas applied various communication techniques to fulfil their duties, such as,
- Gain a trust of others
- Compliment others, making them feel good.
- Pretend to be ignorant or fool
- Be a good listener
- Read non-verbal communication
- Knowing the opponent
This presentation demonstrates how we can apply Ninja’s techniques to various business scenarios when dealing with stakeholders, such as,
- How to get not so supportive stakeholders engaged in the business initiatives.
- How to collect information or requirements from resisting stakeholders.
- How to deal with a difficult customer. How to read stakeholder’s mind by observing non-verbal communication.
Ninja time is long past. However, most of the techniques are based on human psychology, thus, can be applied to business scenes regardless of time and place.
