Keynote: Drowning in Data, Starving for Judgement

Why Better Decisions Matter More than More Data

For years, organizations have invested heavily in improving access to information. We’ve built dashboards, implemented analytics platforms, embraced big data, and now we’re rapidly adopting AI. Yet despite having more information than ever before, many organizations continue to struggle with making better decisions. I believe we’ve largely solved the information problem. What we haven’t solved is the judgement problem.

Join us as I explore the growing gap between information and judgement, and why the ability to make sound decisions is becoming a more important competitive advantage than access to data itself. I will examine why smart organizations sometimes miss obvious opportunities, why more information often creates more uncertainty rather than less, and why leadership ultimately depends on choosing what matters most.

Drawing on business analysis, strategy, and real-world examples, I will introduce a practical framework for strengthening strategic judgement through context, prioritization, courage, and continuous learning. I will also explore how the role of the business analysis professional is evolving from eliciting requirements and producing insights to enabling better decisions across the organization.

As AI continues to generate information faster than ever, the organizations that thrive won’t be the ones that know the most. They’ll be the ones that exercise the best judgement.
