Mark Freese

BUSINESS ANALYST

Mark Freese

Mark Freese is a Business Technologist who works at the intersection of business analysis, product thinking, AI, automation and rapid solution development.

After almost eight years across commercial, product and Business Analyst roles in the iGaming industry, Mark found himself increasingly drawn beyond analysing problems and defining requirements towards designing, building and testing solutions end to end.

His approach combines business analysis with modern tools and AI-assisted development to move quickly from an ambiguous problem to something tangible: understand the need, build a lightweight proof of concept, put it in front of real users, capture what happens and iterate.

Mark now applies this approach across independent, community and consulting projects. Through Wings That Work (wingsthatwork.com), he explores rapid prototyping, AI-enabled product ideas, automation and practical technology solutions for real business problems. He is also developing Yarnrite (yarnrite.com), focused on using technology to create interactive digital experiences that enhance personal and shared experiences.

He is an active volunteer with IIBA Perth, exploring ways to make business analysis more practical, collaborative and engaging.

Workshop: From Ideation to Reality: Applying BA Concepts Through Gamified Proofs of Concept

This interactive workshop explores how Business Analysts can move from ideation to a working Proof of Concept by combining core BA concepts with vibe coding, gamification and structured problem-solving. Using a purpose-built app and hands-on BA challenges, Mark Freese and Nicola Livingstone will demonstrate how stakeholder engagement, elicitation, collaboration, prioritisation, prototyping and validation can turn abstract ideas into tangible, testable outcomes that support stakeholder buy-in.
