Presentation: Sharpen your agile tools for better outcomes
Nowadays, many business analysts have a hybrid role, driving agile rituals and tooling in the team on top of business analysis tasks. We are often busy addressing the friction between tools for brainstorming, project management, and roadmapping. We’ve found ourselves becoming the team’s bottleneck and underutilising our core BA skills.
During Seek’s unification program, as the only business analyst on a team of 20+ people, Rob often found himself the single point of dependency. He decided to find a solution.
During the last three years, Rob has explored and implemented hidden features in existing tools to visualise dependencies, streamline processes and measure progress. These changes (1) enable teams to self-manage and self-improve and (2) allow BAs to focus on more valuable and interesting tasks. Hence, after his internal sharing, many teams have adopted it in their ways of working.
This leads to a win:win:win outcome: a win for the organisation, a win for teams, and a win for BAs.
