Workshop: Back to the essence of Business Analysis: Thinking before solving
In today’s fast-paced business environment, the art of true business analysis is fading. Once, BAs were known for their deep analytical thinking, their ability to ask the right questions, and their commitment to understanding the full impact of a problem before proposing solutions. Today, however, the pressure to deliver quick fixes often leads to band-aid solutions—addressing symptoms rather than root causes, only to create new, unintended problems down the line.
This workshop is a call to action—a return to the core essence of business analysis. It challenges modern BAs to slow down before speeding up, to invest in critical thinking, deep reading, and evidence-based decision-making, and to master the art of structured problem-solving before jumping to solutions.
Through the lens of Systems Thinking, participants will explore how problems exist within interconnected systems, where every decision has ripple effects. Using practical BA tools such as root cause analysis, business model canvases, empathy maps, and causal loop diagrams, attendees will sharpen their ability to uncover the real problem, analyse impacts, and communicate insights effectively to senior management.
